Thinking about taking the first steps of your journey on starting Pilates. Joseph Pilates created a method of exercise that was originally called Contrology. It is a full-body system that will challenge your body and mind. It has withstood the test of time because it is a system and it works. Pilates is less about flexibility and a spiritual practice. It is rehabilitative and a form of exercise that PTs use in their practice. I often say that having a healthy back isn’t just getting a massage, It is strengthening your back. Helping retain the body after an Injury, to help one get out of pain. To transform the body into a leaner, stronger better version of you.
Tips for success, think of your goals, and what you want to achieve. Repetition is key to your pilates practice. Sometimes Newcomers have trouble establishing a consistent practice. I am here to help encourage you and for you to find mobility, balance, strength, control, and centering. This method will allow your body to perform in a way so you can move through your life doing what you love.
Remember, Pilates is for everyone. It looks different on all body types. Even I don’t fit the stereotype of a Pilates instructor. I am busting through that myth and yelling on mountain tops. “Pilates is for everyone”. Please join me in helping empower you to feel stronger in movement and in spirit.
